warlordares replied to your postAunt Demeter! What a pleasant surprise. I wa…

I’m fine, so far. Like you, I’m expecting the excitement of this place to wear off. Being the god of war, I don’t do so well cooped up someplace where fighting is discouraged… I take it you came here primarily to be with your daughter?

I did. I also came to see Hestia and Poseidon, but I don’t believe either of them have arrived yet. -smiles- I did run into an old friend of mine as well. Pan, have you ever heard of him? You must have a lot of catching up with family to do. If you count half-siblings, you must have at least a hundred brothers and sisters.

Aunt Demeter! What a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to see you here. I thought doing Zeus a favor is the last thing you'd want... How've you been?

I am by no means doing Zeus a favor. If that’s what he’s told you, then he drastically overestimates my respect for him. I am only here to see my family and friends again. -smiles- That being said, it’s good to see you. I’ve been alright for now, though I suspect this place will get to me eventually. How are you?

I guess I should say hello. So um, hi.

goddess-despoine:

-returns her smile- You can cross my name off that list then. The fact that you’re here with me now has me smiling so much I’m afraid my face will stay frozen like this forever. I couldn’t care less what happened in the past and I don’t think my heart could have taken another eternity of silence between us. But I still don’t understand what changed? We are immortal beings, time has little or no effect on us. Be it the way we look, the grudges we hold to the way we think. I .. I just don’t want to wake up one day to find us to back the way we were before.

I assure you that I will never let that happen. I suppose it was simply the opportunity. We haven’t seen each other in quite some time, as I’m sure you’re aware. When I heard that you had been invited to this Academy, I saw it as a chance to turn over a new leaf. -smiles, relieved- I’m just glad you’re not holding a grudge. I certainly wouldn’t blame you if you were.

Hello there!

pantheshepherd:

No, not in the slightest. I simply refuse to believe that anyone can be that sad. The inside of your head is a rainy day, you know that? Enter me, the metaphorical sunny day in this scenario. You need to open your mind, that’s all. I know the mortals outlawed drugs years ago, but just one hit won’t kill you. And neither will a little bedroom romp, but I see the look in your eyes whenever I mention that, so I guess that’s out of the question… -smirks- Don’t tell me, it’s been awhile?

-narrows eyes- I am not above striking you, young man. Keep that in mind. My mind is not a rainy day. Besides, if it is, yours is an orgy. -sighs- Maybe you’re right. Maybe I do need to loosen up a little. But I still refuse to try any of your drugs. You’re not getting me to budge on that. Have anything other than sex and drugs in mind for this sunny day of yours?

He feels too, does he not? I dislike when I speak to him with disrespect, but he constantly reminds me that I’m only a child. That I am naive. That he and my father are the reasons why I wake each morning to no light for six months a year. As I said, I don’t believe anyone deserves sorrow. It is the worst pain.

Hades knows you come before him anyway no matter how much he may not like it. I will tell him to keep out of your way if it is what you wish.

Hades does not feel. That is the only plausible explanation for anything he does. If he felt, why would he spend his days thinking of clever punishments for Earth’s scum? Ask Tantalus is Hades feels. Ask Sisyphus. You place goodness where there is none, my dear. Hades is unredeemable.

I certainly wouldn’t protest to you passing my feelings along, though I’m sure he knows them well enough by now. At least he should.

perssephone:

I have too much sympathy and it is a weakness of mine. I wonder if any Goddess truly loves their own consort. Everyone just seems so unhappy with their choices. No woman nor any man deserves sorrow, not even Hades or Father. Sometimes I question my own words to Hades and I wonder if I’m too harsh.

I am never busy for my own mother. What kind of question is that?

No words you could speak to Hades would be too harsh. What he did was unthinkable. If he’s as clever as he believes he is, he’ll expect no less than the hatred he deserves. Your sympathy can also be a strength. Don’t let Hades and those like him convince you that kindness is weakness. Your kindness is what puts you above them.

I was simply curious if you had other plans. I don’t want to start anything with Hades so early in our stay.

Hello there!

pantheshepherd:

-narrows his eyes, considering it- Hmm… A few centuries, at least. If I saw everything as practically as you did, I’d go crazy in no time. Where’s your imagination? Don’t you have any hopes or dreams? Don’t you ever daydream? Maybe you will now that you have something to fantasize about… -laughs- Yeah, I know. Respect your elders, I’ve heard. Give me that look all you want, but you know you like it when I tease you.

You’re ridiculous. But probably my best friend in the world. I suppose that means I have to put up with you. -shakes head- You don’t want to know what I daydream about. After all these centuries of pent up hatred, my daydreams mostly involve all the ways in which I could end one of my brothers. Besides, when you’re as old as I am, hopes and dreams seem like child’s play. -raises eyebrows, smiles- I don’t suppose you’ll accept that answer.

Hello there!

pantheshepherd:

Well, my offer stands in case you ever change your mind. Something tells me you might after you get a better look at this new mortal body of mine. I wouldn’t mind getting a peek at yours if you know what I mean. -laughs- I guess now you’re going to tell me to respect my elders or something. -tilts his head- This is exactly what I mean when I say you need to loosen up. When’s the last time you did something purely for fun?

-surprised- How did you know I was going to say “respect your elders?” That’s just weird. -eyes him up and down- But for the record, your mortal body is quite handsome. He’s very flattering on you. You were cute as a satyr, but the hooves always kind of turned me off. -shrug- I don’t really do things just for fun. I’m much too mature for that. Let me ask you this: when was the last time you did something for some reason other than just fun?

perssephone:

Why did she marry Father? I was never quite clear on the story and I can’t imagine any perfectly good reasons for marrying a man like him. She has put herself into a bad situation whereas I was forced into one. When would you like to arrange our meeting in the garden? Obviously, I’m open any day for you.

To be honest, I haven’t the slightest idea what would compel an otherwise sensible woman to tie herself down to that man for the rest of time. I suppose we all have our foolish moments, but really? My sympathy for her can only go so far when my own daughter was forced into a situation similar to that which she chose for herself.

I have no pressing engagements or plans at all for that matter. How about tonight? Are you busy?
